Shiatsu massage

Shiatsu is a Japanese word meaning “finger pressure”. Shiatsu is a traditional form of Japanese pressure point massage. A Shiatsu massage may incorporate not only the use of finger pressure, but also pressure by the therapists thumbs, palms, knees, forearms, elbows and even feet.

How does shiatsu work?

Like acupuncture, shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine, where illness is thought to result from imbalances in the natural flow of energy, or qi (pronounced "chee") through the body.
